Leo is gone now but his story is still alive

Leo is gone now but his story is still alive

My Uncle Leo was quite the story teller. If the story was sad he made your eyes water. If funny you laughed. Of course all his stories came from real-life experiences. I don’t remember a whole lot about Leo during my early years for he moved his family to California while I grew up in Massachusetts. It wasn’t until I joined the Air Force that I was to get to know him like an uncle should be known.
He told me stories about my mom and dad that I had never realized but shed some light as to why I was brought up in an orphanage.
My first get-to-know-my-uncle time was when I was on my way to Alaska in 1963. I spent a few days with him while en-route to my new duty station. We had a great time while he showed me all around his place of work. He worked for MGM studios in those days as a night watchman and taking me around the studio back-lots in that army jeep (used on the TV series Combat) was as memorable as memories can be. And yes, he told me a few stories.
A few more visits over the years as I passed through California from one military assignment to another got to be almost as if the Air Force was playing family reunion as a part of my transfer orders. There was the week my family and I stayed while on our way to Okinawa with a repeat of the same on our way back from the Pacific. Just to mention that ocean brought more stories from Uncle Leo…you see he spent a lot of time there in WW II.
Then it was around 1973 while stationed in Texas that the Air Force would send me TDY (Air Force lingo for Temporary Duty) to Southern California…I guess the reason for the TDY is not important here, but just in case you’re interested, it was to buy dogs for the military working dog program. Yeah, it was great! Right down the road from my Uncle Leo’s place was Fort MacArthur where all the preliminary physicals and qualification testing was accomplished before the dogs were inducted into the service. But that’s another story…for it was during this visit that Leo told the story that led me to tell this story.
I’m not sure what it was that perked his memory but he began this story by lighting up a cigarette (and yes, he was a heavy smoker…the old Lucky Strikes without the filter). He was somewhere out in the middle of the Pacific Ocean being transferred to another island during some of the heaviest fighting of WW II. Now Leo can only tell this part like Leo can and I cannot re-enact the inflection of his voice. He describes the situation where he sees a young man on his knees reciting some prayer while a torpedo is headed straight for the ship. Most everyone thought it would be their last day on earth…except Leo. He lights a cigarette and nonchalantly walks to the ship’s stern and flicks his ashes over the torpedo that passes harmlessly below curvature of the hull and disappears.
Now I may not have given the torpedo story much justice but let’s fast forward to October 1, 2011. In the town where I live they have what is called Claybank Jamboree every first Saturday in October. One of the vendors on display in the town’s square was distributing free books. When a book was handed to me I didn’t pay too much attention to the title until I reached home later in the day. It’s a religious book and I’m not a huge reader of denominational conditionings…my religious beliefs are pretty much set at my age. But then again I wasn’t going to let a book go to waste…so I began reading “Psalm 91 God’s Shield of Protection”. Not a catchy title that I’d be looking for at a book store but here’s what it said right there in chapter one:
“…a situation in which a U.S. Navy boy from Texas found himself. Running spiritually to his secret place is most likely what saved his ship from disaster. He and his mother had agreed to repeat Psalm 91 each day at a given time, to add agreement to his protection covenant. He later told of a time when his ship was under attack from the air and from an enemy submarine at the same time. All battle stations on the ship were in operation when the sub came within firing range and loosed a torpedo directly toward them. At that moment the young man realized it was the exact time that his mother would be saying Psalm 91, so he began quoting the psalm just as the torpedo wake appeared, headed directly toward their battleship. Then, when it was just a short distance away, it suddenly swerved, passing the stern and disappearing.”

Leo is gone now but his story is still alive...

The Final Conflict

The Final Conflict... Was it the movie or was it her thesis? Only Kagan knows...
By Norman E. Hooben

Kagan's thesis is awash with sympathy for the Socialist Party. At least that's what I got out of her thesis. First off, it was very boring reading so then I just started scanning the pages stopping here and there just to see that she kept to her theme. If one doesn't come away from it with the feeling that the author is a dyed-in-the-wool socialist then I have nothing further to say. But that, she is! No one would write in the style and prose that Kagan uses unless they had a firm grip on the ideology she seems to cherish. So whatever it is that I'm not telling you, you can read Ken Blackwell's essay below for I pretty much fall in line with his findings.
Now the rest of what I have to say may seem a stretch to some however the circumstances may be of some significance once you study other events of the day. Now her title was not just something she cooked up to complete the paper. The Final Conflict has more written over it than meets the eye.
The years leading up to Kagan's scholastic countdown to graduation had a series of motion pictures that aside from their entertainment value were designed to shape the mindsets of those who watched. There is much evidence that this type of brainwashing has come out of Hollywood for some time but I just want to stick to those that I believe Elena Kagan, the moviegoer, attended...even if she did not attend, the mindset would be rampant in the community of her peers and ideologues of the times.
In the mid to late 1970's a triology of movies were produced starting with The Omen, then Damien, Omen II and ending with The Final Conflict which was in the theatres around 1980. So there we have it, The Final Conflict in living color and also in black and white in the pages of Kagan's thesis. Now lets talk about the movie for a moment.
The trailer for the movie is posted below but before you watch it several things you should be thinking about because I want you to compare them to that which is going on today. And to help you with that comparison I've posted an Alex Jones video that should make this connection a slam dunk. I won't get into a lot of detail but if all you do is disregard the color of Damien's skin and think Barack Obama. And when the narrator mentions the word trinity, think Tri-lateral Commission. Then with just a quick glimpse of the cult speech (directed to the disciples of the watch) by Damien, think Bohemian Gardens which you should be familiar with in the Jones video. And remember that the Jones video was made authentic by the imprimatur David Gergen. Watch these two videos back to back a few times and tell me that you don't think Elena Kagan may have connected a few dots to her Final Conflict. ~ Norman E. Hooben

Elena Kagan: Estranged From America

By Ken Blackwell

It was not conservatives who first claimed that Elena Kagan is "estranged from America." Those strong words were used by liberal columnist Peter Beinart. He said in a blog piece posted on the Daily Beast, that "barring the military from campus is a bit like banning the president or even the flag. It's a statement of national estrangement."
Beinart went further. He said it showed "bad judgment." Well, what is it exactly that we want from our judges? Is it not judgment? So now, the Washington Post tells us that there's a "battle to define Kagan." What battle? She's already defined herself. She has always been left and lefter.
Here's a woman who describes her all-American upbringing on the West Side of Manhattan. It's a bluestocking district so liberal no Republican could hope to compete. There, the elections are decided in the Democratic Party primaries -- in September. She cut her political teeth interning for the ultra-liberal Congressman Ted Weiss (D-L-N.Y.) who would go on to demand that President Reagan be impeached. And she campaigned as a teen for the über liberal Rep. Elizabeth Holtzman.
Her Princeton senior thesis was titled ominously "To the Final Conflict," and lamented the failure of socialism in New York City, 1900-1933. She thought socialism's failure "a sad but also a chastening one for those who...still wish to change America."
Young Kagan in 1980 was already estranged from the weak tea Democratic policies of President Jimmy Carter. She was the editorial chairman of the student newspaper, the Daily Princetonian, when it excoriated Carter for reinstituting draft registration. He didn't actually draft anyone, but the mere requirement of 18-year old men to sign up for the military was enough to raise the hackles of Kagan and her early anti-military circle.
Not every outside influence was unwelcome on Princeton's campus in Kagan's time there. She and future New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer signed a manifesto which appeared in the student newspaper. They complained that Princeton's administrators had not consulted them about keeping pornography off campus. Do we have any doubt as to what a progressive view of pornography would be?
Kagan's story of election night, 1980, is revealing. She refers to the defeat of a cluster of liberal U.S. Senators in mournful tones. George McGovern, Frank Church, Birch Bayh, and John Culver all went down to defeat in the wake of Ronald Reagan's landslide victory. The pro-life senators who replaced them were, to young Elena Kagan, beneath contempt. She styled them as "avengers" of "innocent life."
Innocent life? Oh, that would be the millions of unborn children whose lives Kagan would not even recognize as lives. Do we really have any doubts as to what a Justice Kagan would think about the Unborn Victims of Violence Act? Or even the Born Alive Infant Protection Act?
Some lives, of course, deserve more protection than others. Do we have any doubt that Kagan shares the view of this administration that captured terrorists deserve a presumption of innocence? This presumption of innocence would be extended -- being extended even to Khalid Sheikh Muhammed -- the mastermind of 9/11, who has also boasted about beheading Daniel Pearl.
Do we have any doubt where a Justice Kagan would stand on giving Miranda warnings to terrorists like Khalid Sheikh Muhammed, Farouk Abdulmutallab, as well as American citizens like Nidal Hasan and Faisal Shahzad?
Al Qaeda watches CNN. They know how to use our ACLU-whipped court system against us. As former Vice President Cheney said:
Maybe you've heard that when we captured KSM, he said he would talk as soon as he got to New York City and saw his lawyer. But like many critics of interrogations, he clearly misunderstood the business at hand. American personnel were not there to commence an elaborate legal proceeding, but to extract information from him before al-Qaeda could strike again and kill more of our people.
Do we really want another ACLU-er on the Supreme Court?

The Obama Agenda

"It's easier to kill a million people than to control a million people."

.

Message To Obama...

Is there a single virtue now remaining amongst you? Is there one vice you do not possess? Ye have no more religion than my horse; gold is your God; which of you have not barter'd your conscience for bribes? Is there a man amongst you that has the least care for the good of the Commonwealth? Ye sordid prostitutes have you not defil'd this sacred place, and turn'd the Lord's temple into a den of thieves, by your immoral principles and wicked practices? Ye are grown intolerably odious to the whole nation; you were deputed here by the people to get grievances redress'd, are you yourselves gone! So! Take away that shining bauble there, and lock up the doors. In the name of God, go!

Harry Truman's Most Important Business

Harry Truman's Most Important Business...it should have been your Doctrine Harry!
By Norman E. Hooben

Harry Truman may have been the last honest president the United States has had...and maybe the first one to come along since Honest Abe but that's another story.  Honesty is one thing but foresight is another and Harry had little of the latter.  His views on the United Nations, China, and an international monetary unit of exchange really stunk and again, that's another story.  But one thing for sure that Harry brought with him to the presidency was his conviction  of whence we came...and no president has ever expressed it any better than this:
"The most important business in this Nation–or any other nation, for that matter-is raising and training children. If those children have the proper environment at home, and educationally, very, very few of them ever turn out wrong. I don't think we put enough stress on the necessity of implanting in the child's mind the moral code under which we live.
The fundamental basis of this Nation's law was given to Moses on the Mount. The fundamental basis of our Bill of Rights comes from the teachings which we get from Exodus and St. Matthew, from Isaiah and St. Paul. I don't think we emphasize that enough these days.
If we don't have the proper fundamental moral background, we will finally wind up with a totalitarian government which does not believe in rights for anybody except the state."  ~ Harry S Truman

Trivia note: There is no period after the S in Harry S Truman
____________________________________

I posted the following earlier but I thought I would post it again because a "fundamental moral background" and a "sacred bond of union" are the links between our past and our future and let no Obama put asunder!

Religion as a Bond of Union
“The people of the city were not only united about a common citadel; they were also bound together by a common religion.  Each smaller group – like the family, the gens, etc. – retained its own particular worship; but to be part of the city it must also recognize the common deity under  whose protection the city was founded, and whose continual worship the city life was maintained.  Religion was thus the sacred bond of union which held together the various parts of the community.”  ~ From Outlines of Greek History by William C. Morey, Ph.D., D.C.L.  copyright 1903
One could make the claim that the above quote is the greatest un-learned history lesson of all time.  I don’t know how many times nor how many history books that  I ran across similar statements about the cohesion of the early city states.  The use of Dr. Morey’s quote here was simply because it predates me…but also that I have the book in my possession.
It should be noted that the sacred bond of union was one of mutually shared assimilation and not a dictate by the government for as soon as such authoritative force came upon the population then the decline of the city state soon followed; especially when that force was dominated by outside religious beliefs or no religion at all.  Most indigenous peoples have a religion that guides there every day moral compass; those that do not generally have no morals and a particular observation is that lying comes easy for there is no law written in stone to guide them…they have no conscience that disturbs the alarms that should ring when wrong dominates right.   Such secular people usually have little in common with those of established faiths…though there is some toleration but usually for political trickery intents.
So what is happening now in the once very cohesive United States?  We have the influence of an unconscionable, authoritative leader that dictates policy influenced by non Judeo-Christian beliefs (mostly Islam and Marxism) backed by gangs schooled in the art of Saul Alinsky and deceit (is that a double negative? Alinsky and deceit).  Remember, it was Judeo-Christian beliefs that were our common bond.  Let’s not forget it.  This moment in time is your part in history for another generation to learn about so let’s prolong our bond before the United States of America becomes history. ~  Norman E. Hooben
Ps: The New World Order crowd (Carter, Clinton [x2], Bush[x 2], Pelosi, Reid, Obama) never learned the above history lesson.

Global Warming...some facts you may have missed

Regarding Global Warming...facts that everyone should know!

EPA Suppresses Pertinent Information Regarding Global Warming
On a number of occasions I have warned about the politicizing of things beyond our control. The practice of legislating technology that has not been invented yet is one of my great peeves. Fooling with Mother Nature is another!
It is simply amazing that a significant nobody can suddenly have more knowledge than the gods Ankhaile and Oreithyia by simply getting elected. First it was global warming. Supposedly man was getting Ankhaile angry and being a god, Ankhaile punished us with hot air (mostly from the mouths of politicians). Then it was global cooling (Another Ice Age Time Magazine 1974) and Oreithyia spewed forth some major ice storms. Now we're back to global warming and both Ankhaile and Oreithyia agreed to the change! Wow! It's all so simple now...change...aah ha, now I get it...it's climate change! And it is all caused by the gods Ankhaile and Oreithyia.
Did you ever wonder why the politicians harp on an issue like climate change? Since I've been following this since I was a child (Global Warming, Bah Humbug) I can tell you. It's all about the money...and control!
The United Nations has been using climate change to generate revenues for years (long before Al Gore) and they have been forcing governments around the world to heed to their beliefs...all in the name of... I repeat, money and control! (Note the reference to the United Nations in the video below). - Norman E. Hooben
There's more...

Below is a reprint of a July 1, 2009 letter to Congress by a team of atmospheric scientists.

OPEN LETTER TO THE CONGRESS OF THE UNITED STATES: YOU ARE BEING DECEIVED ABOUT GLOBAL WARMING

You have recently received an Open Letter from the Woods Hole Research Center, exhorting you to act quickly to avoid global disaster. The letter purports to be from independent scientists, but that Center is the former den of the President's science advisor, John Holdren, and is far from independent. This is the same science advisor who has given us predictions of “almost certain” thermonuclear war or eco-catastrophe by the year 2000, and many other forecasts of doom that somehow never seem to arrive on time.

The facts are:

The sky is not falling; the Earth has been cooling for ten years, without help. The present cooling was NOT predicted by the alarmists' computer models, and has come as an embarrassment to them.

The finest meteorologists in the world cannot predict the weather two weeks in advance, let alone the climate for the rest of the century. Can Al Gore? Can John Holdren? We are flooded with claims that the evidence is clear, that the debate is closed, that we must act immediately, etc, but in fact

THERE IS NO SUCH EVIDENCE; IT DOESN'T EXIST.

The proposed legislation would cripple the US economy, putting us at a disadvantage compared to our competitors. For such drastic action, it is only prudent to demand genuine proof that it is needed, not guesswork, and not false claims about the state of the science.

DEMAND PROOF, NOT CONSENSUS

Finally, climate alarmism pays well. Many alarmists are profiting from their activism. There are billions of dollars floating around for the taking, and being taken.

Message To Obama...

Message To Obama (and to his Cabinet and the 111th Congress) - Ye have no more religion than my horse...ye are a pack of mercenary wretches

It is high time for me to put an end to your sitting in this place, which you have dishonored by your contempt of all virtue, and defiled by your practice of every vice; ye are a factious crew, and enemies to all good government; ye are a pack of mercenary wretches, and would like Esau sell your country for a mess of pottage, and like Judas betray your God for a few pieces of money.

New World Order, New World Order...Do I hear an echo?

Norm's View: The New World Order is emerging.

There's a tendency to forget some of the most important issues of the day when we are bombarded with headlines anew...and their significance dwindles which each passing day (especially when there's more important news covering American Idol and other no-brainer distractions...how sick!).

What is the most important issue? In my opinion, the most important issue for the last 33 years has been the New World Order (NWO). It was approximately 33 years ago when I first heard about the Trilateral Commission; a leader in the NWO scheme which had its beginnings just a few years earlier. Then about 17 years ago a man who I described as our first faux-President, Bill Clinton signed the Law Of The Sea Treaty (LOST) ...a treaty that has yet to be ratified (and God forbid it does) by the United States Senate. If one reads all 200-plus pages of LOST the impetus is all on control; control by the United Nations, the most corrupt world-wide organization ever devised.
We also had another globalist advocate who was responsible for the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) and that would be former President Jimmy Carter. Carter may have started the ball rolling with CRA but it wasn't until Clinton came along and put some teeth into it during his reign of false hope. The mainstream media will not tell you, but the CRA is the number one reason for our current financial crisis. You can argue all you want about the banks and Fannie Mae or whoever, without the CRA none of this would have happened. Its all a scheme to collapse the financial system of the United States in favor of a New World Order. (If you don't believe that last statement you haven't been following the news lately.)

And further, both major American political parties are very much entwined in trying to convince and/or brainwash the citizens that the NWO is the way to go. President George Herbert Walker Bush (Bush 41) gave numerous speeches enunciating New World Order, New World Order, New World Order... Hypnotists use that same repetitive dictation in to get control of their subjects!
After Bill Clinton continued with Bush's rhetoric with minor variations such as, "...all Americans should have a world view." the next president, Bush senior's son, George W. Bush gave the worn out title a new name; Security and Prosperity Partnership! (SPP) He also signed the Security and Prosperity Partnership Agreement which most scholars consider unconstitutional. This was not a treaty as treaties go, but an agreement not approved by the American people that still remains a mystery to most citizens. Essentially, this agreement would do away with our borders and ultimately our sovereignty...and less I forget, the dollar.
Whether it be the Trilateralists, the SPP crowd or the unmentioned Council of Foreign Relations (CFR), it is these politic elite who control almost every aspect of your life...even for whom you vote. Oh, and don't let me forget Henry Kissinger.  In case you want to know, Kissinger has New World Order on his fried brain 24/7 !
These elitists attend many meetings planning and scheming your future. Every once in awhile they'll all get together at one place and then maybe, just maybe, the average citizen will hear about it. One such meeting was recently held in London, England. You may may remember that it was headlined as, "The G20 Summit". Bet you don't know what went on at the summit...they were scheming to do away with your sovereignty! The New World Order is emerging. Listen closely as Gordon Brown clues you in... - Norman E. Hooben

Brown DOES do God as he calls for new world order in sermon at St. Paul's

form the UK Daily Mail

Gordon Brown

Divine strength: Gordon Brown, in St Paul's Cathedral, talking about faith and the global economy

Gordon Brown has made an overtly religious call for a new world order based on the 'deep moral sense' shared by all faiths.

Making the first speech by a serving Prime Minister at St Paul's Cathedral in London, he quoted scripture as he urged people to unite to forge a new 'global society'.

The Prime Minister argued that through all faiths, traditions and heritages runs a 'single powerful modern sense demanding responsibility from all and fairness to all'.

He quoted the Christian doctrine of 'do to others what you would have them do unto you' and highlighted similar principles in Judaism, Islam, Hinduism and Sikhism.

'They each and all reflect a sense that we share the pain of others, and a sense that we believe in something bigger than

ourselves - that we cannot be truly content while others face despair, cannot be completely at ease while others live in fear, cannot be satisfied while others are in sorrow,' he said.

'We all feel, regardless of the source of our philosophy, the same deep moral sense that each of us is our brother and sisters' keeper . . . we cannot and will not pass by on the other side when people are suffering and when we have it within our power to help.'

He went on to suggest the world economy and society should be rebuilt around a Zulu word for hope - themba - which is also an acronym for 'there must be an alternative'.

The speech was an extraordinary break from his predecessor Tony Blair, whose spin doctor Alastair Campbell famously declared that 'we don't do God'.

At Westminster it was also seen as high risk for a Government mired in allegations of sleaze to put morality and faith at the centre of its political and economic message.

Mr Brown, with Australian PM Kevin Rudd in the historic cathedral, where he talks about the G20 summit

Mr Brown, with Australian PM Kevin Rudd in the historic cathedral, in the week that world leaders meet for the G20 summit

Mr Brown, asked about his decision to discuss religion so openly, declared: 'I think politicians have got to be very careful that they don't turn out to try to be bishops.

'But what we do and what we say reflects the views that we have, the belief we hold, the faith we were brought up in and the faith we believe in.'

Mr Brown, whose father was a minister in the Church of Scotland, is not a regular churchgoer, but aides said last night that he believed in God. The Prime Minister, on a platform with his Australian counterpart Kevin Rudd and the Bishop of London Richard Chartres, admitted unsupervised financial markets had 'crossed moral boundaries'.

He said market forces should be replaced by those of the 'heart' because it was now clear they could 'become the enemy of the good society'.

'We cannot and will not pass by the side when people are suffering'

Brown: 'We cannot and will not pass by the side when people are suffering'

'We can now see that markets cannot self-regulate but they can self-destruct,' he added. Critics said Mr Brown undermined his high moral tone by injecting some low politics into his address.

He claimed those that would 'do nothing' and let the recession 'run its course' - his traditional attack on the Tories - 'demean our humanity'.

The Prime Minister also raised eyebrows by claiming he had been arguing for 'some time' that there are limits to markets.

For more than a decade, Labour enthusiastically championed the 'light touch' regulation of the City, now blamed for letting bankers take massive risks.

Speaking to a congregation of 2,000 faith and City leaders, charity workers and schoolchildren, Mr Brown again dodged calls to apologise for his role in the financial crisis.

'I have always said I take full responsibility for my actions,' he declared. '

But I also know that this crisis is global in source and global in scale. I believe that unsupervised globalisation of our financial markets did not only cross national boundaries - it crossed moral boundaries too.'

The Prime Minister said financial institutions and markets must in future operate around the ' enduring virtues' of everyday life.

'Our financial system must be founded on the very same values that are at the heart of our family lives,' he said.

_____________

A few years ago, actually, slightly longer than that, I was assigned to Vandenberg Air Force Base (VAFB), California where one of my responsibilities was to perform anti-mortem and post mortem inspections of the locally raised cattle for the federal prison system. Within the boundaries of the federal property, stood the Lompoc Federal prison; a maximum security prison. Outside the walls of the so-called big house trustees worked at the abattoir. This is where I performed my inspections to assure that no diseased carcass entered the food chain.

Obviously, I worked close to convicted felons and was privy to talk with them unrestrained by any thou-shalt-nots. The first time I spoke with one of the inmates was right off the get-go… I wasn’t at VAFB a week when an inmate asked, “How do you like southern California?” My reply (having been stationed in California some three years earlier) was, “California is pretty nice however the cost of living is pretty high.” Without stopping to think about it, the inmate bounced back with, “You don’t worry about it, if you’re a crook!” “Good answer.” I said, “Good answer!” as I was amused at his naiveté.

While the above commentary would give the reader some trivial insight as to some of the goings on inside the prison system, the overall cost of supporting prisoners by the taxpayer is no trivial matter. Take the following comment by a prison employee…whether accurate or not, your insight to prison is that the costs are going out of sight! - Norman E. Hooben

I work in a California prison. Perhaps you should see how egregiously Californians are paying for the healthcare of these criminals where simply poor people, victims' families, and even veterans lack comparable healthcare.
These inmates get medical care that is far beyond what would be considered necessary. Unfortunately, prison doctors have to approve of these unnecessary treatments due to the ever present threat of law suits by opportunistic groups like the PRISON LAW OFFICE (www.prisonlaw.com), who have dedicated their work to the sheer welfare of rapists and murderers.
Unfortunately, it is only the occasional random deaths of inmates that the public hears about. Most Californians are shocked to find out that inmates get any healthcare, let alone the luxury kind that they get. Most prison employees like me, after they start working inside a prison, get amazed at the luxurious and great medical services the inmates get. If you have never spent time in a prison, you would not know this.
Tax-payers should find out about all the lotions, creams, dandruff shampoos, and moisturizers that these inmates get in the guise of medical care. They should find out about the thousands of inmates that get corrective minor surgery to their knees or shoulders (at 30,000 a surgery) for an injury that happened to them, say 20 years ago outside, but never bothered to fix - the kind of surgery that a pro athlete gets for improving his play. They should find out about the $20,000 nose jobs they get for a minor nasal septal deviation that happened to them 40 years ago as a child. California tax-payers should find out about thousands of inmates that get sophisticated radiology tests such as MRIs (at $3000 per MRI) for back, knee, or shoulder pain, which they fake in order to get special accommodations (like a bottom bunk which means a status symbol among prisoners). These are just examples of egregious extravagances that California tax-payers have to cover for their prisoners. If Californians were informed by the media about such things, they would write their legislators and force them to take a tougher stance against this wasteful insanity
The prison population has stolen the clause "Cruel and Unusual Punishment" out of its context of severe punishments over 200 years ago, to dupe the people of this state and country into giving them the luxuries of life inside America's Prisons. No wonder, over 70% of prison inmates are in there for not the first time. If prison had maintained its original meaning of a punishing environment, you would think more of them, having been there once, would do anything not to go back. Most career criminals in this state do not fear prison, and in fact look forward to being there.
Sure, give them life-saving treatment and treatment that would prevent major illness, pain and suffering, but you have to draw the line somewhere. Only a well-informed public could do this, through contacting their law-makers and fighting this at the Federal level, which is what is forcing California now to pay dearly. Last year, the State spent more than $7000 per inmate's healthcare! In comparison it spent less than $3500 per employee for state employees who are entitled to full medical benefits through their jobs.

Last month, a report by the Pew Center on the States came out that right now a record 1 in 100 Americans are in prison (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/23392251). They cited reasons such as high crime rate, tougher laws, etc. But a very important reason was the higher recidivism. Most inmates in California's prisons, about 75% are there not for the first time. This is partly because inmates have managed to make prison a much more pleasant place, than say 50 years ago, when prison was still considered punishment. It is really time for the Supreme Court to draw a line on how civil lawyers can abuse the 8th amendment for its ban on "cruel and unusual punishment". Many inmates are using this clause to win the comforts and luxuries of outside life behind bars, really taking away the punishment factor out of prison. Prison should have a rehabilitative factor. However, a good part of this factor is contributed by its corrective and punishment elements. Purely rehabilitative services should be reserved for those who have destroyed only their own lives. Punishment should still be part of the action applied to those who have destroyed other people's lives. Civil attorneys on behalf of inmates will try to make people forget about this, and want to make prison’s purpose only a rehabilitative one.
Money hungry lawyers and uninformed activist groups and judges (like Tilton Henderson) have strived to make prison a pleasant place in this country, in some instances almost like a country spa or at least an all-inclusive motel. The good, law-abiding citizens of this state are in a lose-lose battle with the criminals, gangs, rapists, and murderers. These elements are either in free society victimizing free people, or inside luxury prisons costing them billions of dollars. Only a well-informed public and their representatives can put a stop to this debauchery. Perhaps an independent review of the scale of prison medical services can help the public and politicians by giving them the ammunition needed in their battle against activist judges and lawyers, in keeping society safe without bankrupting the State treasury.

Mystery Prison Buses in the Desert

Global Research, January 22, 2009

On a recent visit to Tucson, Arizona, where I was invited to give a presentation on monetary reform, I was disturbed by a story of strange goings on in the desert. A little over a year ago, it seems, a new industrial facility sprang up on the edge of town. It was in a remote industrial zone and appeared to be a bus depot. The new enterprise was surrounded by an imposing security fence and bore no outward signs identifying its services. However, it soon became apparent that the compound was in the business of outfitting a fleet of prison buses. Thirty or so secondhand city buses were being reconfigured with prison bars in the windows and a coat of fresh paint bearing the “Wackenhut G4S” logo on the side.

The new Wackenhut operation is shrouded in mystery. It has been running its fleet of empty prison buses night and day, apparently logging miles on a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) contract. Multiple buses can be seen driving all over town and even on remote desert back roads. Oddly, except for the driver and one escort guard seated in front, these buses are always empty.

Wackenhut Services was founded by George Wackenhut in 1954 to provide prison guard services to state and federal governments. Wackenhut Services is now owned by the Danish corporation G4S.

Observers originally thought that the purpose of the new Wackenhut operation was to outfit prison buses to be distributed in other parts of the country. But it soon became apparent that none of the buses was leaving the Tucson depot. Recently, a passerby observed what appeared to be a training operation there. In what seemed to be strange activity for 10:30 PM on a Saturday night, the depot yard was fully illuminated, the entire fleet of buses was up and running, and drivers and guards were scrambling around the yard. The question is, what were they training for?

Wackenhut has never officially announced itself to the community, and the local news media have never mentioned its presence. Hiring has been discreetly conducted via the Internet, and an apathetic general public has taken little notice. Among the few who have noticed, one theory is that the prison bus depot is simply infrastructure for border security. But if so, where are the illegal aliens? Why are these buses always empty? What is the alleged justification for burning thousands of gallons of diesel fuel to run thirty decrepit, smoking buses night and day without passengers?

There is another interesting piece to this puzzle. On the desolate plain between Phoenix and Tucson is a tiny town called Florence, Arizona, which features a population consisting largely of prisoners. For decades, Florence has been the home of two of the largest county and federal prisons in the state; and in 2007, a vast new DHS prison was built there as well. Like the Wackenhut buses, this shiny new facility, which literally disappears into the horizon, has gone unannounced and unnoticed by the general public. A new facility for imprisoning illegal aliens? It is hard to imagine such expensive infrastructure being built for that purpose when U.S. policy has been to simply return illegals to their home countries.

Fraud and waste aside, this mysterious activity has sinister implications. Why the obvious secrecy? Since the World Trade Center disaster in 2001, the Department of Homeland Security has grown to monster proportions, claiming a projected $50 billion of the federal budget in 2009. DHS includes the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), which earned notoriety in 2005 for its gross mishandling of the Katrina disaster in New Orleans. Al Martin, a retired naval intelligence officer and former contributor to the Presidential Council of Economic Advisors, has linked the remilitarization of FEMA to the civil unrest anticipated along with economic collapse. He wrote in a November 2005 newsletter called “Behind the Scenes in the Beltway”:

“FEMA is being upgraded as a federal agency, and upon passage of PATRIOT Act III, which contains the amendment to overturn posse comitatus, FEMA will be re-militarized, which will give the agency military police powers. . . . Why is all of this being done? Why is the regime moving to a militarized police state and to a dictatorship? It is because of what Comptroller General David Walker said, that after 2009, the ability of the United States to continue to service its debt becomes questionable. Although the average citizen may not understand what that means, when the United States can no longer service its debt it collapses as an economic entity. We would be an economically collapsed state. The only way government can function and can maintain control in an economically collapsed state is through a military dictatorship.”1

All of this is quite ominous. It is also a good argument for considering radical funding alternatives. There are other ways to deal with the federal debt besides relying on the waning appetites of the Chinese and the Japanese for U.S. securities. Some innovative alternatives for funding both the federal debt and President Obama’s new economic stimulus package will be the subject of followup articles. Stay tuned.

In Web of Debt, her latest book, she turns those skills to an analysis of the Federal Reserve and “the money trust.” She shows how this private cartel has usurped the power to create money from the people themselves, and how we the people can get it back. Her earlier books focused on the pharmaceutical cartel that gets its power from “the money trust.” Her eleven books include Forbidden Medicine, Nature’s Pharmacy (co-authored with Dr. Lynne Walker), and The Key to Ultimate Health (co-authored with Dr. Richard Hansen). The Sounds Of Boston

The Sounds Of Boston ...Hey Menino, ya bum!

"America is no longer a Christian nation" - Barack Obama
And now we have to listen to this! (see video below)

Growing up just thirty-five miles south, Boston was always an interesting place to visit. The sounds of the big city (at least for me it was big) were the sounds of vehicle traffic, street vendors, and Irish cops. We used to go to the ball games...the Boston Red Sox and the Boston Braves... and the street vendors selling various sausages and souvenirs was always something to look forward to. We even made some noise inside the park, "Hey Williams, ya bum!" That was at Fenway and of course Ted Williams was no bum, but we were just kids and having a ball. Then there was Braves Field, "Hey Johnny, ya bum!" and of course Johnny Sain was no bum either. Over at the harbor there was no sound greater than the whistle of the ferry that would take us to Nantasket Beach for a fun day at the amusement park.

As the years went by and I attended various schools in Boston trying to earn college credits one subject-one semester at a time, there was the traffic noise. It wasn't after hours traffic for in Boston I don't think there is such a thing as after hours traffic. Once the working folk commuters went home then all the evening students came into Boston from the surrounding communities...I was just one of thousands! And God forbid I get in the way of a taxi driver...beeeeep, beeeeep! "Get out of the way ya bum!"

Now there is a new sound that comes not from Paul Revere...and it's not "The British are coming!"

You might want to use some ear plugs for what you are about to hear, and, "No! It's not Mumbles Menino mumbling his sweet nothings!" (If you haven't heard of 'Mumbles' yet, try calling the Mayor's Office!) "Hey Menino! Ya bum!" "The Muslims are coming!" "The Muslims are coming!

An Open Letter To The Officers Of The United States Military Forces

In the course of recent history there have occurred numerous events which give rise to our urgent concern as to where your immediate loyalty lies. Is it with the People of the several United States of America, or is it to the would-be Commander in Chief, the president elect and to the Supreme Court of the United States?

Because of numerous apparently erroneous decisions made by the Supreme Court in the near past, decisions that were more political than constitutional, there is a well-seated concern regarding their decision on a very serious allegation before them today. The concern is that the president-elect in the person of Barak Hussein Obama is not qualified to fill the office of President of the United States and that of Commander-In-Chief of the military forces of this great nation because of constitutional restrictions for the candidate to that high office. It is a question of his status as a natural born citizen of these United States.

If the Supreme Court makes the correct decision according to the Constitution of the United States and finds that Mr. Obama is not qualified to that office there will have to be another selection to fill the office and give to you and your fellow officers a proper, Constitutional Commander-in-Chief.

If, however, as anticipated, the Supreme Court errs to political pressure and allows the faulted election of Barak Hussein Obama to stand, then you will have to make the personal, serious decision to act under your oath-of-office as a commissioned officer of the United States of America. You cannot lawfully serve under an unconstitutional president. Any orders issued as Commander-in-Chief will be unlawful orders.

History is replete with examples of the people's worst enemy being their own government taken over by power hungry despots. I have no reason to believe that human nature has changed, that given the opportunity, evil men will impose their will upon the populace.

The form of government established by this Nation's founders is one of Law based upon absolute Principles, not upon the whims of individuals nor even of the majority of the people. They wrote a Constitution expressly limiting the authority of the federal government and denying to elected leadership unilateral and unquestioned authority.

You are reminded that your oath upon commissioning as an officer of this nation is to support and defend that Constitution against all enemies, foreign or domestic and through it, the people of these several States. It is not to obey a Commander in Chief, whether qualified or not. Even less is it to obey the faulted decision of a faulted court.

You are further reminded that it is well established in international law that following the orders of a superior authority is in no defense in your personal responsibility for unlawful acts by you as commissioned military leaders.

It is with these points in mind that I demand that you make a personal decision and public commitment that, if and when you are ordered to accept a blatantly unconstitutional decision that grossly damages our constitutional underpinnings, action against the people of these several States or the Constitution established by them, you stand with the people and their Constitution to protect them from intrusion upon rights, their persons and their property and to defend them against all actions, either violent or non-violent, perpetrated by those enemies, domestic or foreign, whose object is the destruction of the Constitution.

I call upon you to renounce any action in violation of the people or their Constitution, and to bring to bear all the forces under your command to the protection and defense of these high purposes. In the Name of the Almighty God, I fully expect you to fulfill to the maximum your obligations set forth in your oath of office - I will accept nothing less.

Our prayer For Today…

Our Dear and Most Gracious Heavenly Father, please be with us in our hour of need. Guide us in seeing the correct way to go, the wisdom to see our correct path according to our oath of office as sworn to you. Please give us the courage to do that which must be done and the leadership, in Your Name, to have others follow us in our task. All this we pray in Thy Holy Name and In The Name of Your Son Jesus. Amen

As a post script…

A Necessary Review Of Our Oath Of Office…

As you will remember, we all took an oath that ended "… So Help Me God."

Let's rely on Him now when we need His strength.

As you know, we did NOT take an oath to fly airplanes, fight wars, kill innocent humans, obey orders of an unqualified, unconstitutional president or those of congress that collectively turns their backs on their sworn oath.

We took one oath and one oath only - to support and defend the Constitution of the United States of America against ALL enemies, foreign or domestic. And then we asked God for His help in fulfilling that oath of office.

Have you ever wondered why, in our oath of office, the authors placed the word domestic when referring to future, real enemies of the constitution? I truly believe that we could be seeing the reason today.

MY OATH OF OFFICE AS SWORN BY ME ON 13 DECEMBER 1957

“I, Robert William Worn, A03081165, having been appointed a Second

Lieutenant, United States Air Force, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that

I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States of America against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to same; that I take this obligation freely, without mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office upon which I am about to enter. So Help Me God.”

The following added by Storm'n Norm'n

"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies in the heart of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear. The traitor is the plague…”

- Marcus Tullius Cicero, speech to the Roman Senate.
